Meet the New Principal
Dr. Charlotte Sasser-Thomas
As a dedicated educator, I strive to foster genuine partnerships with each student, staff member and family. My goal is to establish strong, lasting relationships throughout the school year while inspiring our students to take risks, actively engage in their learning, pursue their dreams, think critically and develop the confidence needed to achieve their goals.
As a Dallas native and long-time Carrollton resident, I earned my Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts, along with my teaching certification, from Texas Woman's University. I began my teaching career in Houston before joining CFBISD.
My journey in CFBISD began at Blanton Elementary, where I taught art for 10 years. In 2003, I earned my principal certification from the University of Texas at Arlington, which led to assistant principal roles at Country Place, Landry, McWhorter and Rainwater Elementary Schools. I returned to Rainwater as principal in 2009, serving for nine years before earning my Doctor of Educational Leadership from Northcentral University. After completing my doctorate, I accepted the principal position at McCoy Elementary and have thoroughly enjoyed serving its students and staff.
I am truly looking forward to serving the students, families, and staff of Freeman Elementary. Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is an exceptional district dedicated to our community, and I am committed to supporting all our students.
