Dr. Charlotte Sasser-Thomas

As a Dallas native and longtime resident of Carrollton, I attended Texas Woman's University, where I earned both a BFA and an MA in Fine Arts, along with my teaching certification. I taught art at L.F. Blanton for ten years, after previously teaching for two years in Houston, Texas.

In 2003, I earned my principal certification from UT Arlington and became the assistant principal, dividing my time between Annie H. Rainwater and Country Place Elementary. I continued to develop my administrative skills at Katherine McWhorter and Tom Landry before returning to Rainwater as the principal in 2009. During my tenure at Rainwater, I also earned my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University in 2018. Shortly after receiving my doctoral degree, I accepted the position of principal at McCoy Elementary, where I served for four years. Moving into the 2025 school year, I will begin my role as the new principal to lead and support the growth of students and staff at Bernice Chatman Freeman Elementary.

As a dedicated educator, I aim to build genuine partnerships with each student, staff member, and family. My goal is to create strong, lasting relationships throughout the school year while inspiring students to take risks, actively participate in their learning, pursue their dreams, think critically, and develop confidence to reach their goals.
