Welcome to Freeman SPARK STEM Academy!

Freeman Elementary is a place where every student is celebrated and empowered to be leaders in learning! The diverse population of our school represents a wide range of cultures, religions, backgrounds and languages from around the world! We believe our campus culture mirrors the world we live in. Twenty-seven different languages are spoken by the students at Freeman. Along with teaching the standards established by the state of Texas, we embed the Engineering Design Process as a natural part of our learning environment.

Students are taught the skills and strategies needed to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, as well as creative and collaborative -- all real-world skills needed to be productive and successful learners and leaders! Our curriculum is focused on STEM, core content, social-emotional learning and physical education. Our staff of amazing educators work together and with district leaders to provide the most enriching, challenging and rigorous learning all while supporting every child in the process. Expert Teachers

All of the professional teaching staff at Freeman Elementary are Texas state certified in the core subject areas. All Kindergarten through 3rd grade teachers and administration have participated in the Texas Reading Academies and are trained in the Science of Teaching Reading. As a STEM Academy, all teachers have been trained in the engineering design process and receive ongoing professional development to increase their pedagogy. Our PreK-5th grade teachers are certified ESL, English as a Second Language, to meet the needs of our language learners. Ongoing professional development is an important part of our campus culture to support our students and families.

How To Enroll

There are two ways to get in:

If you are a new student and live in the attendance zone, you can move forward by completing online registration and follow the steps for online enrollment.

Students may enroll for the current school year or can begin online registration for the new school year on April 1.
If you do not live in the attendance zone, you can apply now.

School Recognitions

Freeman Elementary has received a number of campus, faculty and student recognitions. Our STEM teacher, Abigail Gunn, was named first runner up in the 2019 District Teacher of the Year Award. Our campus is also a nationally recognized Unified Champions School for our dedicated work toward inclusion and Special Olympics. Through our work in technology and digital citizenship, we are also a recognized Common Sense Campus. Our students received numerous medals at the 2020 District Academic Olympiad and Elementary Science Fair. We are also a top contributor for the Pennies for Patients Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser.
